Midem is a must for any professional Artist our Band. You could send un-solicited CD's to labels all around the world at great expense and they may never be heard. They will just sit in the corner of a room some where our worse fired in the bin at first glance. Most labels will not except any CD, s unless they have come from some one in the business e.g. another signed artist, management company who they know would not take a chance on handing a record company executive a CD of a rubbish band putting them selves in a position that they could loose any kind of respect that they may have had with that person.

Depending what stage you are at with in your music career will determine who you should meet as you have only one chance to make a first impression, so make sure you are getting all the right press and do as many gig's as possible as they will want to see that you have been putting as much work in as possible. Self management is always a good route to take in the early days but it will get to a stage were you will have to get some one to help you.
